My child is nine and HATES reading! That being said he will read this book and does very well. The facts are interesting and hold his attention. There are a nice selection of mammals and the book helps with the pronunciation of each one. I highly recommend for a child who is interesting in prehistoric animals.
The three-year-old will love this, if his interests are the same that mine were at his age!Hey diddly dee, a paleontologist's life for me!

A great little reference book. Our 3 year old is obsessed with dinosaurs but he also knows about the mammal-like reptiles before dinosaurs and the mammals that took over after dinosaurs. It's simple to read to him and the pictures are engaging.
