Got this book thinking it would provide lots of detailed info since it was solely about the Abacos. What I found was basically a small coffee table book with lots of pictures and very little helpful information. The few maps (not charts) were extremely basic. Sorry to say this was not money well spent.

I've cruised the Abacos a number of times over the years.  As the description indicates, this book  is a straight forward overview of the Abacos from top to bottom.  I appreciate the attention given to the many uninhabited islands often glossed over in other books.  While this book is not a substitute for a cruising guide or chart book, it is a great overview of the Abacos.This book provides a nice balance of history and island overview with an appendix giving some additional information specific to those cruising the Abacos.  This book does not place a great emphasis on the resorts or communities, so if your only interest is Abacos communities this may not be the best book for you. If you are considering a trip to the Abacos and want a comprehensive summary of what the Abaco cays are like, then this book is a great place to start.
